3rd Swiss Lymphology Symposium

On 04 September 2021, the Swiss Lymph Symposium took place in Zurich for the 3rd time as a hybrid event. Under the scientific direction of Stephan Wagner, MD, the focus this year was on secondary lymhphoedema.
In cooperation with Berro AG, the Julius Zorn GmbH Academy once again provided space and time for an interdisciplinary and interprofessional exchange of knowledge on the topic of lymphoedema.
Secondary lymphoedema can occur in a wide variety of medical specialties and often accompany patients throughout their lives as a secondary condition, such as after curative cancer therapy. It is important to have an understanding of why and where lymph nodes need to be removed as part of tumor therapy, Dr. Wagner said.
Current and future therapeutic approaches, imaging options, and the status of drug therapy were also addressed. Complex wounds and the indication for inpatient decongestive therapy were also discussed.
In addition to theoretical knowledge, hands-on demonstrations related to conservative oedema treatment were offered to participants both on-site and via livestream.
The Lymph Symposium impressed with its top-class line-up of speakers and participants. Aimed at physicians interested in lymphology, therapists or medical professionals, the event provides a space for discussion, networking and knowledge transfer.
